Mo is the deuteragonist of the Cartoon Network series Elliott from Earth, serving as Elliott's trusted companion and best friend. First appearing in "Wednesday Part 2," he is a Stegosaurus who has lived stranded on Biosphere 1138 as long as he can remember. Because of his poor eyesight, he typically wears a pair of glasses originally owned by Frankie.
Mo's name comes from Elliott's aunt Mo, and was chosen by himself to be his name.
Appearance[]
Mo is a green stegosaur, with a round face and snout, circular blue glasses, darker green coloration around his mouth, a bluish tongue, a long neck, several orange plates in a row along his back, a circular body, and a large tail. Typically Mo stands and walks on two legs, but occasionally still uses all four legs to crouch, rest, walk, or run. Prior to the events of "Wednesday Part 2", he did not walk on two limbs and did not wear any glasses.
His prototype design is similar, but has more plates, an orange mottling along the back, black glasses, a red tongue, visible claws, and a larger size overall.
Personality[]
Mo is kind, honest, loyal, naive, gentle, and usually easygoing. He can be somewhat nervous or reserved at times, but overall is typically much more curious and open. As he starts to explore the Centrium with Elliott and Frankie, he is able to open up more, and becomes a bit more eager and energetic. Similarly to Elliott, Mo is usually very willing to explore something new if the opportunity arises.
Mo is very loyal and honest; he values honesty deeply, and is even shown to be very upset even by unintentionally lying. Mo also generally speaks and acts in a very open and sincere way, and his loyalty combined with his good-hearted personality means he makes a genuine and friendly connection to almost everyone he meets. However, his traits of loyalty and honesty are at their strongest in his relationships with Frankie and Elliott, and he is extremely loyal to them both. Mo's loyalty also means that he is very dedicated to following any guidelines or instructions given to him (unless he has a good reason not to). He also tends to be very agreeable, and will often easily accept propositions or commands from others.
Mo has a very straightforward and lighthearted way of thinking. His thought process is usually very simple, and is heavily based upon whatever knowledge, goals, or expectations he already has in his mind. This trait can lead him to seem somewhat dramatic or unpredictable at times, as he often simply acts in the "role" that fits whatever he expects or knows about the situation, even if those ideas change quickly. Mo often doesn't consider other possibilities or concepts as he thinks about something, but sometimes this straightforward way of thinking can lead him to a solution or a helpful perspective that others never thought of.
Mo's naivety is a prominent part of his character. It is somewhat because of his lack of experience or knowledge due to living in Biosphere 1138 for as long as he remembers, but it also seems to somewhat be a natural part of his personality. However, Mo is also a fast learner, so he very quickly and unquestioningly accepts new ideas or explanations that are told to him. Because of this, he is also able to easily let go of these things if they end up being incorrect, and quickly find a new mindset.
To others, Mo is typically friendly, easygoing and open. Although he is not very outgoing and tends to be somewhat reserved, oftentimes he is still open to meeting new people, and gets along with others well. His friendly and easygoing nature means he can make connections with others easily, even if it is only for a moment. Mo's side of many interactions is usually uncomplicated and lighthearted, and he is shown to be polite, honest, and good-natured even toward strangers or acquaintances. He often acts with a gentle and sometimes soft-spoken demeanor.
